The marketing side of MMA there is one name that comes to mind and thats tapout. They represent alot of great fighters in UFC and alot of unknown names. The thing that got me to like tapout clothing wear is the guy that they call "The Mask" is real name though is Charles Lewis. He is my idol when it comes to hard times because he took many of them to just turn them into to good times that would be benificial to others. He loved this sport and the fans that helped it grow. In my mind I wish everyone was like the The Mask Of Tapout because then the world might have war or never see a hungry mouth again, instead people would see everyone helping eachother to get out of hard times.
R.I.P. Charles "The Mask" Lewis

Research Paper
http://www.ontariokickboxing.ca/index.php?requrl=headline.php&viewkey=7
Doing Research for my Research Paper today was helpful because i learned stuff today that i didn't know. One thing i learned was That DanWhite is becoming a bigger promoter than the boxing legend Don King i thought was impossible. Doing my research paper on ufc was quite difficult because i have so many topics to pick from. I couldn't do all of them unless i had to write a book. Doing all these papers close to my quest is very helpful on getting deeper in to what fighting is really about learning about people that don't fight but setup the fights that everyone loves to enjoy. In my mind researching sports bring you closer to sports that you never thought possible.

Not Hearing But Seeing the road to greatness
http://copyt.com/watch-matt-hamill-keith-jardine-ultimate-fighter-11-finale-post-fight-interview-video/
When you think of a deaf athlete you wouldn't think he would be in the sport of fighting. The people that would believe that to be true would be wrong on so many levels. One of the top light-heavyweight contenders in the ufc is deaf. Matt Hamill first began in wrestling becoming a three-time NCAA division III National Chamion in the 167, 190, and 197 weight classes. Hamill also has a silver medal in Greco-Roman and Gold in Freestyle wrestling from the 2001 summer deaflympics. He started his UFC career on the show of ultimate fighter but couldn't continue to the semi-finals because of an injury but returned to face fellow ultimate fighter contestant in the finale to beat him by KO. In my mind is biggest accomplish is that he became the man to clear the road for other deaf people to have the motivation to fight in MMA. I Can't wait to see this amazing fighters next fight.

Defending Ones Right
http://www.complex.com/CELEBRITIES/Web-Exclusive/Georges-St.-Pierre
Georges St. Pierre is a fighter that had a bad childhood which should show why people stop bullying. When he was younger he went to school where kids would steal his clothes and money. When at the age of 7 his dad taught him kyokushin karate which helped GSP defend himself against a school bully. I think Georges is a good role model for anyone that is getting bullied. This is what this sport is all about because their is deeper stories then what people thought to be possible

I read about a fighter that just won his 14th MMA fight of his career but this one was his biggest because it was his first fight since he won the ultimate fighter 11 finale But his biggest success was before the ultimate fighter because he was a former heroin addict. The heroin almost took his life when one night he overdosed. He was pronounced dead at the scene but miraculously brought back. After this near near death experience he suffered relaspes. He started to use painkillers and alcohol as a drug of choice after an injury. In my own thoughts if it wasn't for mma he wouldn't be alive today. MMA and the love of his family brought him back from black evil to a life he can enjoy. Nothing is better then hearing a success story about a fighter that fought more then the man accross the cage.

I found a source that i found on Dmacc Library from esquire. Mike Sager Wrote the article and it was very informative. He kind of put us in the shoes of Dana White and Pretty much showing us who really the president of UfC is. It showed that the fame he got from UFC hasn't got to his head. Day before the fight he tweeted his location and gave away over 2 thousand tickets which is allot of money right there. This is a great article that made me think how Dana White gives back to the fans and doesn't just let the fame get to his head and doesn't think he's better then everyone else.

First Mexican Heavyweight Champion
When I look for a Mixed Martial Artist Representing A Culture I look No further Then The New UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez. I pick Cain Because He's The First Mexican UFC Heavyweight Champion A big achievement that people said he couldn't do.This achievement is much deeper then the Eye can See. When I say Deeper I mean that he can thank his dad for this win because his dad was an Mexican immigrant who worked to his bone getting sent back over the border many times. I never been in that situation of my dad getting sent over the border but My dad is an Philippine Immigrant who has worked for everything he has and has taught me many of the lessons i need to achieve my goals in life. Cain Is one of The Two Fighters I look up to because he never lets fame take him from the man that his father taught him to be. I Really am starting to see how the sport of fighting is not just violent its a motivation for not just me but the world to work hard and never let people push you down from the path that you walk.

The Wonderful Taste Of Urine
http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1210079&page=2
I have found the reason Why Juan Manuel Marquez drinks his urine after workouts. I guess to some eastern Cultures Drinking urine is said to have healing poweres. This practice of drinking urine is called urophagia. When I looked this Training technique up I found that many pro athletes do this and the Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida Does This. So if many of the top athletes do this i guess drinking piss really does make athletes into the best. I know this much I will never be caught drinking my own piss. I wonder what weird thing i will find out next.

Best Fight Of The Year
I can't wait till the 23rd Because thats when Brock Lesnar Meets his next Challenge. The Next Challenger is Cain Velasquez who is a knock out artist. I hope that Cain will become the first mexican heavy weight champion. That fight though is This saturday So I'll have to watch it when it comes. One fighter that I looked up this weekend is Juan Manuel Marquez who is one of the top mexican boxers. I brought him up because he has one of the weirdest training techniques i have ever seen. Its not using a heavy bag in a weird way or something physical. After every training session he pisses in a cup and drinks it. I never heard of a fighter ever do this till now, so it gets me wondering does drinking piss help him become one of the best?

Gladly I got the internet back on so I can watch the fights on youtube again. I watched the Chuck Liddell and Rampage Jackson Fight. It was a fight that Chuck was hoping to win so he could revenge his loss to jackson the first time but that never happened because he was knocked completely out in the first round. the most interesting thing I found out when reasearching these fighters is Jackson was involved in police chase in July 15, 2008. He got his case dismissed because he did 200 hrs of community hours which disappointed me because he hit alot of cars and nearly killed alot of people he should of spent time in jail or prison. If he wasn't a celebrity fighter would he of had to do the time or would he have just had to do community service?

Like Father, Like Son
I interviewed my dad for an essay i did for class and i found out some interesting things as we were talking. I found that me and my dad had more in common then I thought. We both liked the same fighters for pretty much the same reason and we both wanted to be boxers but never fulfilled that dream. By the End of our conversation I found out that boxing is much more then two guys getting into the ring and punching each other until one surrenders. Boxing for some people is memories Like for me its spending time with my dad and for my dad its remembering the times he had with his family and friends in his native country Philippines who he wanted to see again. So now I consider boxing to be more then a sport i consider it as an infinite book of memories for people who like seeing people get punched from time to time.
Favorite Filipino Fighter
I watched the fight between David Diaz and Manny Pacquiao. Pacquiao wasn't supposed to be able to knockout Diaz because the size difference though Pacquiao did and proved everyone wrong. Through the whole fight Manny dominated Diaz from round to round. Diaz was a very good Amateur boxer winning three national golden gloves championships where pacquiao never had a Amateur career he pretty much started when he was 16 and fought his way up the weights and pro ladders. Pacquiao I found was not just a boxer but a political figure, singer, and movie star. I wonder if i'll find another fighter as busy as Pacquiao or as inspiring.

Great Fighting Spirit
I watched the Lesnar Vs Carwin which was a great show of heart. Lesnar who I found out was a small town farm was getting beat down in the first round but some how found a way to hold on to make it to the second round. Pretty much Carwin didn't have any gas in the second round and Lesnar beat him with a arm triangle choke. Carwins background is great because he doesn't just fight he also works as an engineer. I also watched Silva vs Sonnen and Jose Aldo Vs Manny Gamburyan. I thought the Lesnar vs Carwin Fight would be better to talk about. The Next fight I will Watch Is B.j. Penn vs Frank Edgar 2 which I hear was a good fight.

Beginning The Adventure
pinoyfightscribe.com
It's the start of my adventure to figure out why people go into the sport of fighting. I have chosen a very controversial fight to watch and research. I'm going to watch the Lesnar Vs. Carwin fight because they both are amazing athletes and I want to figure out why they started to do this dangerous sport of Mixed Martial Arts. I wonder what I will find out by tomorrow maybe i'll find something amazing that i didn't even imagine would be true.

Why Fight?
My name is Bernardino Carpio Jr. I’m 20 years old and love watching boxing or mixed martial arts. To me boxing isn’t just a sport it’s like a math problem wondering how the guy is going to figure out his next equation. Will the guy throw a combination or will he throw jabs to outpoint the opponent. This isn’t just throwing punches, you’ll have to go in there and find ways to get past the blocks and sways. The best thing about a good boxing match is that it will display heart to keep getting up till you can’t anymore.
For thirty days I will watch one fight and research the two fighters so I can learn about the fighter behind the fighting. I will figure out if the fighter is in charity events if he started his own organization. I will also try to learn about the fighter’s family background and his life before he started fighting. In my 30 day quest I will watch all my fights on youtube because I can’t afford to buy any on television. This will be a difficult quest that requires a lot of time to find the information I want to find and a fight that I get interested in.
When I’m done with this 30 day quest I want to find out the reasons behind why a person would go into this violent sport. A sport that it’s either hit or to be hit and I don’t think anyone wants to be hit. When I look back on the fights I have watched how being in this sport of violence is not worth all the cash in the world. These fighters can have possibilities of brain damage and much more internal damage then thought possible. On this adventure of figuring out why people go in to such a violent sport I hope it can give me a better understanding. From all the blood and tears I know the sport of fighting is always going to be a sport of heart and moments that will be remembered until the gladiators of the ring are replaced by a new decade of history.
